Welcome
Thank you so much for choosing us as your healthcare provider! We are excited to welcome you as our newest patient and look forward to a long, healthy relationship with you as your Women’s Health Medical Home. We offer a different kind of OB/GYN practice experience than what you may have had in the past. We think of our patients as our family and we will always treat you that way. We approach your care as a partnership, will take the time to get to know you, answer your questions and explain your treatment options in as much detail as you want. In addition, we fully understand your concerns and will make you feel comfortable and right at home from the minute you arrive for your first appointment. That’s because we realize that we’re not just providing exceptional obgyn care, we’re building lasting relationships… for life.
What To Expect
We want to make you as comfortable as possible even before you get here, so we’ve provided a walkthrough of what to expect when you visit. When you arrive in our office, our receptionist will greet you and review your completed paperwork. Our practice uses a powerful computerized health record, so your initial visit can take extra time to enter your personal information into the system. Your next stop will be in our lab area or exam room, where our nurse or clinical staff will take your vital signs including your blood pressure, height, and weight and ask for more details about your concerns and your health history.
The next step is a consultation and usually an exam with Dr. Swor, Dr. KASH, Dr. Lichon or one of our other practitioners where your concerns will be addressed privately and thoroughly. We will perform a detailed review of your medical history and physical findings and will schedule any further testing, imaging, or consulting with other physicians or experts. We will discuss our evaluation and recommended treatment plan for your improved health and offer you education and resources for a clear understanding of your health status. At checkout, the staff will coordinate your care plan to help you with scheduling testing, appointments, or prescriptions and answer any billing and payment questions you may have.
A Comfortable Space
Once you arrive at our office, you’ll feel the difference the moment you walk through the door. We try to keep your comfort in mind and create a warm home-like atmosphere. The office has been tastefully decorated and gives a relaxed and soothing spa feel. Sitting in the reception area you may enjoy looking at a magazine or educational material we have available. If an examination, a procedure or any ob/gyn testing is planned in one of our private exam rooms; you will be treated to soft and comfortable cloth gowns, heated speculums and state of the art equipment. Our staff members are trained professionals, with many years of experience in women’s health. We are leaders in quality patient care and we are committed to the highest standards of patient safety and infection control in our practice. Swor Women’s Care is now your home for women’s health and we want your visit to be as easy, comfortable, and dignified as possible.
Staff Who Care
Our staff is a team of dedicated women’s healthcare specialists, who are experienced in assisting our physician and practitioners in caring for you. Many of our office staff have worked together for 10 to 20 years or more and we pride ourselves on the caring, family feel of our practice. We know how to help our patients in a friendly, professional manner, coordinate care and deal with insurance companies, other offices, pharmacies and hospitals. We have strong ties to the community and can facilitate care outside of our practice when appropriate. When you have specific questions or problems, you will be directed to the most appropriate member of our staff for assistance. The nurses, practitioners, Dr. Swor and Dr. KASH are readily available. They believe that you deserve convenient, comfortable care for every stage of your life, and endeavor every day to make that a reality. They want you to leave confident that you have received the best care available anywhere.
Your First OBGYN Exam
Many young women are unsure or nervous about their first gynecologic visit, but it is a simple, important and necessary step to a healthy lifestyle. We believe you should have your first visit by the age of 18 or prior to becoming sexually active. Young women with concerns or ob/gyn problems are sometimes seen at our center at much earlier ages. Younger women often choose to come with a friend or family member, while others prefer the visit to be very confidential. Either way, ob/gyn care is personal business and no details are shared without the express permission of the patient herself. This applies even to parents, although we do encourage communication with a parent or someone you trust.
In the office, you will be asked some personal questions about your health, development, menstrual cycle and sexual activities. Being open and honest will help your practitioner address your health appropriately. Depending on your history and lifestyle, you may also need to undergo a physical, breast, and pelvic exam with a pap test. We also recommend screening for sexually transmitted infections and appropriate vaccines, like the ones for HPV. Your nurse or practitioner will make your visit comfortable, rewarding and educational.
